According to a study, we have a social tendency to care deeply about the status of people who we feel have a higher status than us. This is something that happens when we think about celebrities, for example. Especially when it comes to their relationships.

During the ’90s we started to have a lot of access to celebrities’ lives through TV and photographs. We started to feel that celebrities were closer to us and consequently started to admire them and their relationships.
